Frauenfeld

Switzerland, officially known as the Swiss Confederation, is a landlocked Alpine country in Central Europe. The country, which borders Germany to the north, France to the west, Italy to the south, and Austria and Liechtenstein to the east, was historically a confederation, and has been a federation since 1848. It is a federation of relatively autonomous cantons, some of which have a history of confederacy that goes back more than 700 years, arguably putting them among the world's oldest surviving republics. With an area of 41,285 square kilometers, Switzerland is a relatively small country. It comprises three basic topographical areas namely the Swiss Alps, the Swiss plateau, and the Jura Mountains. Switzerland has four official languages including German, French, Italian and Romansh.

Frauenfeld is a city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages. It is the capital of the canton of Thurgau and lies in the western part. Frauenfeld has a total land area of 27.4 square kilometers and a population of 21,965 inhabitants as of December 2004 census.

Frauenfeld is well connected by the transport facilities. It is served by a railway station and two exits on the A7 motorway. It has a town bus service which runs every 15 minutes to every corner of the town. The city station supports a regional train to Winterthur every 20 minutes and a fast train that travels to Zurich every 30 minutes.

Presently, Frauenfeld experiences a sharp social, economic and population growth derivative of the strategic position of the locality and the high level of well-being and quality of life that is enjoyed with respect to other places of Switzerland. This fact has consolidated along with other adjacent municipalities, as a great alternative for residence.
