La Tour-de-Peilz

Switzerland, officially the Swiss Confederation, is a landlocked Alpine country in Central Europe. It had been a federation, since 1848, of relatively autonomous cantons, some of which have a history of confederacy that goes back more than 700 years, arguably putting them among the world's oldest surviving republics. Switzerland comprises three basic topographical areas namely the Swiss Alps, the Swiss plateau, and the Jura Mountains. Switzerland has four official languages, German in the north and centre, French to the west, Italian in the south and Romansh in the southeast. Switzerland has a strong economy in finance and banking, and a long and strong tradition of political and military neutrality.

La Tour-de-Peilz is a municipality in the district of Vevey of the Canton of Vaud, the canton stretches from Lake Neuchatel in the north, where it borders the canton of Neuchatel to Lake Geneva in the south, bordering the canton of Geneva, Haute-Savoie, lake Border with France and canton of Valais, the Jura ranges in the west, the canton borders the French departements of Ain, Jura, and Doubs and it borders canton of Fribourg and canton of Bern, Switzerland in the east. The city is located on Lake Geneva between Montreux and Vevey.

Less populated than Vevey, Tour-de-Peilz had a population of 10, 435 inhabitants living within an area of 3.29 square kilometers with a rather residential vocation, as of 2004. The town center kept several names inherited from its medieval past, street of the ramparts and the boroughs. On each side of the Main Street, the houses are tightened in contiguous order as at the time when the ramparts enclosed them, it remains beside the Saint Theodule church. The villas at ease in their opulent gardens, the houses of the master like Faraz, the Doges, the castles of Sully, Burier and Poneyre can be seen in the center of the city.

Here, everything is just around the corner and nothing is closer than pure enjoyment.
